Men's Track & Field Competes In Day One Of New England Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Qualifying members of the men's track and field team completed day one of the New England Outdoor Championship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Friday. Senior Chase Bradford (West Bridgewater, Mass.) earned the top finish for the Crusaders taking sixth in the javelin with a throw of 60.25 meter, improving his throw from last weekend's Patriot League Championship by just over five meters.

Freshmen John Cicchitti (Warminster, Pa.) and Mike Galasso (Danvers, Mass.) each finished 14th in their respective events. Cicchitti ran the 10,000-meter in a time of 32:31.75, besting his Patriot League time by three seconds. Galasso crossed the finish line in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.40 seconds. Sophomore Ross Davies (Salem, N.H.) was the only other Crusader to compete on day one and finished the 200-meter dash in 16th place with a time of 22.44 seconds.

The men's track and field team will conclude the New England Outdoor Championship tomorrow, May 12, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
