Men's Indoor Track And Field Finishes Eighth At Joe Donahue Invitational

Boston, Mass. – Sophomore Trevor Dutton (Burlington, Mass.) and freshman Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.) each recorded second place finishes as the Holy Cross men's indoor track and field team took eighth at the Joe Donahue Invitational on Friday afternoon. Holy Cross tallied 36 points while Brown won the team competition with 104 points.

Dutton crossed the finish line in the 800-meter run at 1:55.34 to set a new team season-best mark. Keefer sprinted the 500-meter in 1:06.84, the best of his young career. Sophomore Vuong Tran (Worcester, Mass.) set a career and team season-best mark with a seventh place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.13 seconds while freshman Tim Dunn (Fords, N.J.) improved his team season-best height to 4.10 meters in the pole vault. The 4x400 relay team comprised of junior Mike Galasso (Danvers, Mass.), Dutton, junior Sam McGrath (Tyngsboro, Mass.) and junior Nick Athanasidy (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) also set a team season-best time of 3:23.78.

Other top individual finishers for the Crusaders included Athanasidy who finished just behind Dutton in fourth place in the 800 (1:56.16) and junior Ross Davies (Salem, N.H.) who took seventh in the 200-meter dash (23.01). McGrath took sixth in the 1,000-meter run (2:31.42) followed by freshman Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.) who crossed the finish line in 10th (2:34.57). Sophomore Sean Carey (Newburyport, Mass.) finished tied for ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 13.80 meters.

The men's indoor track and field team will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Maine at 11:30 a.m.
