WORCESTER, Mass. – The men's track and field team traveled to two meets this weekend including the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. on Friday and Saturday and at New Hampshire with Maine in Durham, N.H. on Saturday. Sophomore John Cicchitti (Warminster, Pa.) finished second in the 10,000-meter run with a career-best time of 31:13.68 at the Duke Invitational to lead all Crusader competitors.
At New Hampshire, sophomore Sean Carey (Newburyport, Mass.) led the Crusaders with a third place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 39.67 meters. Carey also finished sixth in the shot put with a distance of 11.18 meters.
At the Duke Invitational, the 4x100-meter relay team comprised of sophomore Vuong Tran (Worcester, Mass.), freshman Tim Dunn (Fords, N.J.) and sophomores Mike Techiera (Foxboro, Mass.) and Mike Galasso (Danvers, Mass.) finished fifth with a time of 43.20. Dunn also finished sixth in the pole vault with a height of 4.45 meters.
The men's track and field team will return to action next Saturday, April 13, at the UMass Invitational at 11:30 a.m.
