Three Crusaders Open Track & Field Competition At The Patriot League Championship

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The men's and women's indoor track and field team opened up competition at the 2014 Patriot League Championship on Friday as junior Sarah Dahlstrom (Southborough, Mass) took second place in the pentathlon with a score  3,295, just 15 points shy of her career-best performance. Women's freshman Jennifer Kimball (South Weymouth, Mass.) and men's freshman Kyle Quinn (North Andover, Mass.) also competed for the Crusaders.

Dahlstrom finished first of 16 competitors in the shot put with a distance of 11.77 meters, surpassing her personal-best mark in the event by .01 meters. She also finished third both in the long jump (4.98 meters) and high jump (1.55 meters). Kimball finished ninth overall in the pentathlon with a score of 2,931 as her top performance came in the high jump, finishing tied for third with Dahlstrom with a height of 1.55 meters.

On the men's side, Quinn is currently eighth in the heptathlon with a score of 2,276 after four events. His top performance came in the high jump, where he landed tied for fifth and surpassed his season-best mark with a height of 1.77 meters. The heptathlon will conclude with the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1,000-meter run tomorrow.

The men's and women's indoor track and field teams will begin full team action at the 2014 Patriot League Championship tomorrow, Feb. 22, at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., respectively.
