BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Sam McGrath (Tyngsboro, Mass.) finished first overall in the 1,000-meter run as the men's indoor track and field team took seventh of 37 teams at the 2014 New England Indoor Championship on Saturday at Boston University. McGrath finished with a time of 2:27.17. Sophomore Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.) finished behind McGrath in third place with a time of 2:30.24.
Sophomore Dennis Muldoon (Weymouth, Mass.) added a fifth place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a career-best time of 8:25.39, shattering his previous top time by just over 13 seconds. Senior Tim Moczula (Edison, N.J.) and Thomas St. Cyr (Temple, N.H.) advanced to the semi-final in the 60-meter hurdles and finished in 12th (8.45) and 17th (8.92), respectively.
The 4x800-meter relay team comprised of sophomore Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.), Tejidor, senior Nick Petsky (Manorville, N.Y.) and freshman Michael Andre (Feeding Hills, Mass.) added a fifth place finish with a season-best time of 7:42.47.
Qualifying members of the men's indoor track and field team will compete in the IC4A Indoor Championship on March 7-9 at Boston Universtiy.
