Qualifying members of the Holy Cross men's track and field team will travel to Amherst, Mass. for the New England Outdoor Championship in Amherst, Mass. on May 8-9. At last year's New England Championship, senior Brad Mish (Hadley, Mass.) finished ninth in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 31:31.43, senior Stephen Mandravelis (Nashua, N.H.) placed seventh in the hammer throw with a distance of 52.07 meters and senior Jonathan Medeiros (New Bedford, Mass.) placed 10th in the discus with a distance of 42.84 meters.
At the 2009 New England Indoor Championship, Mish finished in first place in the 5,000 meter run, with a season-best time of 14:35.70. He is the first Crusader to win an event at the New England Indoor Championship since 1995, and is the first Holy Cross runner to ever claim the 5,000 meter title.
Last weekend at the Patriot League Outdoor Championship, Mish earned second team All-Patriot League honors for his second place performances in the 10,000 and 5,000 meter runs. Mish finished second in both events with a time of 30:43.61 in the 10,000 and 14:51.77 in the 5,000.
