Patriot League Announces Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's cross country team was selected to finish in eighth place in the 2013 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. Navy edged out defending conference champion Lehigh by just two points to finish first with 153 points and nine first place votes. The Mountain Hawks received 151 points and 10 first place votes. American was voted third with 121 points while new league member Boston University landed fourth with 115 points and one first place vote. Army (100), Buckenll (90), Colgate (59) and Holy Cross (46) were selected fifth through eighth, respectively, while Loyola (Md.) was tabbed to finish ninth with 36 points and Lafayette rounded out the poll with 29 points.

The Crusaders are set to begin the 2013 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, at New Hampshire with Providence. The race is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
