Men's Cross Country Finishes Seventh At National Catholic Championship
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Holy Cross men's cross country team finished seventh of 10 teams at the National Catholic Championship on Friday afternoon, hosted by Notre Dame. Sophomore Dennis Muldoon (Weymouth, Mass.) led the Crusader men with a 19th place finish of 91 runners and time of 26:09.70 on the five mile course.
Junior John Cicchitti (Warminster, Pa.) finished just 1.20 seconds behind Muldoon in 21st place at 26:10.90. Sophomore Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.) (55th, 27:15.30) and senior Dylan Villescas (Las Cruces, N.M.) (59th, 27:26.60) each crossed the finish line before freshman John Bentivegna (Staten Island, N.Y.) posted the first rookie finish for Holy Cross, taking 61st with a time of 27:33.00. Freshman Henry Dodge (Rumford, R.I.) (70th, 27:57.50), senior Nick Petsky (Garden City, N.Y.) (72nd, 28:04.90) and freshman Matt Greco (Blue Bell, Pa.) (73rd, 28:07.00) rounded out the Crusader field.
Select members of the men's cross country teams will return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 21, at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at 10:30 a.m.
