Amy Lepley Earns Final Patriot League Rookie Of The Week Honor
WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross freshman forward/guard Amy Lepley (Norfolk, Mass.) has been named the Anaconda Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the second-consecutive week and the sixth time this season. She averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game in the final two regular season contests against Colgate and Lehigh to earn the honors.
Lepley made 9-of-11 field goals to finish with a career-high 20 points against Colgate on Wednesday, Feb. 24. She also notched seven rebounds, three assists and two steals against the Raiders. She then connected on 5-of-7 shots and finished with 14 points in the final contest of the regular season against Lehigh on Saturday, Feb. 27. She added five rebounds, two assists and two steals against the Mountain Hawks.
Holy Cross will next play as the No. 5 seed in the 2010 Patriot League Women's Basketball Tournament matching up with Army, the No. 4 seed. The tournament is hosted by Holy Cross as the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds will be played on the Hart Center hardwood. The Crusaders match-up against the Black Knights in the opening round of games, starting at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6.
