Women's Basketball Names Sahar Nusseibeh Assistant Coach
WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross has named Sahar Nusseibeh as an assistant women's basketball coach, as announced by head coach Bill Gibbons and Athletic Director Richard M. Regan, Jr. Nusseibeh was a former player for American, a Patriot League opponent, and was part of two squads that were named the conference's regular season champions.
Nusseibeh joins the Crusaders' hoops staff after spending the last two years as a graduate assistant at Cincinnati. While there, she provided on-road recruiting, video coordinating, served as the team's post coach and was the academic liaison between the players, academics department and coaches.
"With Coach Drabyn moving to her alma mater as the number one assistant, we needed a passionate, energetic and knowledgeable replacement," said Gibbons. "We certainly found that in Nusseibeh. We are excited to have Sahar on board and I can already see great chemistry amongst our staff."
Along with her experience as a graduate assistant, Nusseibeh spent time as a coach's assistant with the Atlanta Dream and Washington Mystics of the WNBA. She played for American from 2005-2009 and was named to the Patriot League All-Rookie Team. While playing, American won the regular season titles over the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 seasons.
Nusseibeh is a 2009 graduate of American, earning her B.A. in International Relations/International Business. She graduated with Cum laude honors. She received her MBA from Cincinnati this past May.
