WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior forward Amy Lepley (Norfolk, Mass.) and freshman forward Emily Parker (Johnston, Iowa) have been named the Anaconda Patriot League Player and Rookie of the Week for their performances in last week's contest. Lepley earns the honor for the first time in her career while Parker becomes the first repeat Rookie of the Week.
Lepley led four Holy Cross players in double figures with a game-high 18 points as the Crusaders put together their largest offensive output of the season in an 82-62 victory over Bryant on Dec. 21. Lepley shot a season-best 72.7 percent from the field and hit another season-high with eight field goals in 26 minutes against the Bulldogs. She tied her season high with five assists, while she led the Crusaders in scoring for the fifth time this year. Lepley is up to fourth in the league, averaging 12.6 points per game, while she sits second on the team, averaging 5.0 rebounds per contest. She grabbed six boards against Bryant.
Parker earns her honor after scoring 11 points with six rebounds, three blocks, a steal and an assist in the Crusaders' win over Bryant. Her three rejections were the most for any Crusader this season and she is the only Holy Cross player to notch multiple-block games this season as she now has three. She shot 5-of-8 from the floor in 21 minutes of action and leads the Crusaders with 5.3 rebounds per contest. She's averaging 10.2 points per game and is one of four Crusaders in double figures in scoring to this point.
Holy Cross will play against 10th-ranked Miami (Fla.) in the Miami Holiday Classic next. The Crusaders will face the Hurricanes in the opening round starting at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 28. All games will be held at the BankUnited Center in Miami, Fla.
