WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore forward Christine Ganser (Needham, Mass.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from February 27-March 4. Ganser helped lead the Holy Cross women's basketball team to a 59-50 victory over Army in its only game last week, during the Patriot League quarterfinals.
During Thursday night's 59-50 road win over the Black Knights, Ganser led the Crusaders with 17 points, two rebounds and two steals. She hit every shot which she attempted in the game, connecting on all six of her field goals (including one three-pointer) and all four of her free throws. The 17 points were the second-highest total of Ganser's collegiate career, and marked the third straight game in which she scored in double figures.
On the season, Ganser is now averaging 6.3 points and 4.6 rebounds. Over the course of her collegiate career, she has totaled 333 points and 251 rebounds.
Holy Cross returns to action on Monday, March 5, when it travels to American for a 7:00 p.m. game in the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament.
