WORCESTER, Mass. - Head coach Bill Gibbons and the women's basketball program held its annual golf outing on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston, Mass. Over 20 people played in the tournament benefitting the women's program this past Friday. When finished, the golfers sat down to lunch where Amy O'Brien Davagian '99 was honored as this year's Crusader Legend. Davagian was a four-year letterwinner for the Holy Cross women's basketball team, leading the squad to Patriot League titles in 1996, 1998 and 1999. A first team All-Patriot League selection in each of her final three seasons, O'Brien was named the Patriot League Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year in both 1998 and 1999. Only the second player in school history to score over 2,000 career points, she finished her career as a Crusader with 2,075 points, 963 rebounds, 179 assists and 209 steals. She was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003. She is also a member of the Holy Cross Hall of Fame and inducted in 2005.
"We had another great day at Cyprian Keyes," said Gibbons. "Our Crusader Legend was thrilled...and she did a terrific job with her talk. Our players hung on Amy's every word, and they were re-enforced about the Crusader Way....and to be thankful, to give your all, and to be a true teammate with a positive attitude."
