11 Women's Basketball Players Make Academic Honor Roll

WORCESTER, Mass. - Eleven members of the Holy Cross women's basketball team have been selected to the 2012-2013 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the conference office. The Crusaders' 11 selections to the Academic Honor Roll were tied for the most in the Patriot League. Leading Holy Cross were senior forward Amy Lepley (Norfolk, Mass.) and junior forward Christine Ganser (Needham, Mass.), who were both named to the team for the third time in their careers.

Three Crusaders made their second career appearance on the Academic Honor Roll, in senior forward Kaitlin Cole (Springfield, Pa.), junior guard Alex Smith (Delran, N.J.) and sophomore guard Ashley Cooper (Colts Neck, N.J.). Holy Cross players named to the team for the first time include senior guard Alexis Nicholas (Jamaica, N.Y.), junior guard Kelly Hamner (Manassas, Va.), freshman guard Kate Gillespie (Washington, D.C.), freshman center Molly Hourigan (Memphis, N.Y.), freshman forward Raquel Scott (Ridgewood, N.J.) and freshman guard Jenn Walsh (Dallas, Texas).

A total of 61 student-athletes from women's basketball teams around the league earned spots on this year's Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a grade point average of 3.20 or better during the spring semester.
