WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior guard Bethany O'Dell (Lincoln, R.I.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 12-18. O'Dell averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game last week, as the Holy Cross women's basketball team defeated both Army and Bucknell at the Hart Center.
During Wednesday's 57-41 victory over Army, O'Dell recorded 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. She then totaled a team-high 23 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists in Saturday's 66-60 win over Bucknell. Over the course of the two games, O'Dell made 66.7 percent (12 of 18) of her field goal attempts, and 69.2 percent (nine of 13) of her shots from three-point range.
Overall this season, O'Dell is averaging 12.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, while hitting 37.6 percent (41 of 109) of her three-point field goal attempts. Over the course of her career as a Crusader, she has scored 954 points, needing just 46 more to become the 26th 1,000-point scorer in school history.
The Crusaders, who currently stand 8-10 overall and 3-0 in the Patriot League, return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 21, when they play host to Navy at 7:00 p.m.
