WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior guard Laura Aloisi (Nashua, N.H.), a member of the Holy Cross women's basketball team, has been named the Baden Patriot League Player of the Week, for competition from February 4-10. Aloisi tied the team-high in scoring with 19 points as the Crusaders defeated Lafayette, 60-48, in Patriot league action.
During Saturday's road victory, Aloisi scored 12 of her 19 points during a 24-12 run by the Crusaders to clinch the victory, keeping Holy Cross tied for first in the Patriot League standings. In addition to her 19 points, Aloisi had five assists, four rebounds and three steals while making three-of-six attempts from long range and four-of-five from the charity stripe.
On Saturday, Aloisi also made it into the Holy Cross record books as she broke the top 10 in career steals, currently with 193. She also is just 11 shy of tying for eighth in career assists, in which she currently has 403.
Holy Cross (13-10 overall, 6-2 Patriot League) returns to action on Wednesday, February 13, when it hosts Army for a game scheduled at 7:00 p.m.
