WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior center Lisa Andrews (Concord, Mass.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from February 7-13. Andrews averaged 18.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for the Holy Cross women's basketball team in a pair of contests played last weekend.
On Friday, Feb. 11, Andrews totaled 15 points and three rebounds in a 68-62 victory at Lafayette, while hitting six of eight shots from the field. She then recorded 21 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots on Sunday, Feb. 13, as the Crusaders suffered a 73-63 setback at Lehigh. Over the course of the two games, Andrews hit 61.5 percent of her field goal attempts (16 of 26).
During Sunday's game at Lehigh, Andrews scored the 1,000th point of her collegiate career, becoming only the 21st player in Holy Cross women's basketball history to accomplish the feat.
On the season, Andrews is averaging team-highs of 12.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocked shots per game. The Crusaders have an overall record of 15-9 on the year, and stand in first place in the Patriot League with a 10-1 mark in conference games. Holy Cross returns to action this Saturday, Feb. 19, when it plays host to Colgate at 2:00 p.m.
