Boylston, Mass. - On Friday, September 19, the Holy Cross women's basketball team will hold it's 13th Annual Crusaders Legend Golf Tournament at the Cyprian Keyes Golf Course. This year's honoree is former Holy Cross player Cheryl Aaron, class of 1987.
An inductee into the Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1995, Aaron's career with the Crusaders included being named an All-MAAC Selection (1985, 1986, 1987) as Holy Cross went 80-30 during her career. While with the Crusaders, Aaron helped lead Holy Cross to an EAIAW championship and a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship. Aaron, who is currently tied for seventh in career scoring (1,539 points), ranks sixth in career assists (485) and was named to the MAAC All-Tournament team in 1987. Aaron also ranks seventh in the most field goals made in a single season with 218 (1984-1985) and eighth with 214 (1986-1987). She's currently ranked tenth in single-season assists with 153 during the 1986-1987 season.
Past honorees at the Crusaders Legend Golf Tournament include Janet Hourihan ('86), former Athletic Director Ron Perry Sr. ('54), former coach Togo Palazzi ('54), Lauren Maney ('96), Sherry Levin ('84) and former associate head coach Kelly Greenberg.
