WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman guard Briana McFadden (Wheaton, Md.) has been named Patriot League Baden Rookie of the Week as the Holy Cross women's Basketball team went 1-2 in their second week of the season.
McFadden averaged 11.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 40.7% from the field and 41.2% from long range. The rookie guard scored a season-high 14 points against Harvard and posted another double-digit scoring game with 12 versus Quinnipiac. She also had 13 rebounds and five steals on the week. McFadden hit seven three-pointers last week and is ranked sixth in the League in three-point field goals made (1.80).
Senior center Kaitlin Foley (Albany, N.Y.) received honorable mention from the Patriot League for the second consecutive week. Foley totaled 52 points and 18 rebounds over three games, including a season-high 22 against Harvard where she went 22-for-24 from the line.
The Crusaders will play two road games this week as they face Buffalo Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Albany Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
