WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior midfielder Courtney Callahan (Acton, Mass.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from September 21-27. Callahan led the Holy Cross field hockey team to a 1-1 record last week, with a win over Fairfield and a loss to Quinnipiac.
During the Fairfield game on Saturday, Callahan scored the game-winning goal in the Crusaders' 1-0 victory. She scored the goal with just 1:09 left in regulation when she knocked in a tipped ball off a pass from sophomore midfielder Rachael Miers (Langhorne, Pa.).
On the season, Callahan leads the team in scoring with 17 points on eight goals and one assist, including two game-winning goals. Over the course of her collegiate career, she has totaled 18 goals and six assists for 42 points, with four game-winning goals.
The Crusaders (2-7 overall) return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 30, when they play host to Bryant at 4:00 p.m.
