Holy Cross To Face Siena & New Hampshire This Week

  • The Holy Cross field hockey team returns to the field on Wednesday, Sept. 5, when it travels to Siena for a 5:00 p.m. game. The Crusaders will them come home to play host to No. 24 New Hampshire at the Hart Turf Field on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 12:00 p.m.
  • The Crusaders dropped a pair of hard fought games last weekend, beginning with a narrow 1-0 loss at Harvard on Saturday. Holy Cross was then edged by Sacred Heart 2-1 at the Hart Turf Field on Sunday.
  • Senior midfielder Megan Bourne (Lake Forest, Ill.) scored the Crusaders' first goal of the season during the Sacred Heart game on Sunday. Bourne has now totaled seven points on three points and one assist over the course of her collegiate career. 
  • Sophomore Kat Matchett (Maple Glen, Pa.) has played well throughout the first three games of the 2012 campaign. She has allowed only four goals while making 15 saves, good for a 1.33 goals against average and a .789 save percentage on the year. During her career at Holy Cross, Matchett now has 157 saves with a 3.55 goals against average and a .651 save percentage.
