WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross Athletic Director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and field hockey head coach Zowie Tucker have announced the schedule for the upcoming 2013 season. The Crusaders will play a total of 17 contests with nine home games being played at the Hart Turf Field.
Holy Cross will open the season with a home contest versus Siena on Sept. 1. The Crusaders will play their first road game versus Providence (Sept. 4), before they return to Worcester for a pair of contests versus Harvard (Sept. 13) and Sacred Heart (Sept. 15). The squad will open up Patriot League play at American (Sept. 21), as it will stay in Washington, D.C. to take on Georgetown (Sept. 22). Holy Cross will conclude its three-game road trip with a game at Quinnipiac (Sept. 26).
The Crusaders will then play four home contests beginning with Dartmouth (Sept. 29). They will also play Bryant (Oct. 1), new Patriot League member Boston University (Oct. 4) and Cornell (Oct. 6). After the stretch in Worcester, Holy Cross will take to the road once again for a four-game trip versus Bucknell (Oct. 12), Vermont (Oct. 15), Lafayette (Oct. 19) and Brown (Oct. 23). The team will conclude the regular season with a pair of home Patriot League matches against Lehigh (Oct. 26) and Colgate (Nov. 2).
The Patriot League Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 8-9 and will be held at the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will participate in the conference tournament.
