Wilcox Named Volunteer Asst. Field Hockey Coach

WORCESTER, Mass.­ - The College of the Holy Cross has named Sarah Wilcox as a volunteer assistant field hockey coach, as announced by head coach Zowie Tucker.

Wilcox comes to Holy Cross after graduating from UMass Lowell in the spring of 2013, where she was a four-year letter winner for the Riverhawks. Wilcox was a part of the 2010 NCAA Division II National Championship team and three Northeast-10 Tournament Championship squads (2010, 2011 and 2012). Her teams were also NCAA National Finalists in 2009, 2011 and 2012.

"We are happy to welcome Sarah to the Holy Cross Field Hockey family." Tucker said. "Her experiences as a standout athlete at UMass-Lowell will be beneficial to our athletes and her enthusiasm for the game is extremely infectious. We look forward to her helping develop our players and building the team's success this season." 

She is a two-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association first team All-American (2011 &  2012) as well as an NFCHA Division II senior all-star. During her junior and senior seasons, Wilcox earned first team All-Northeast-10 accolades and was a member of the NCAA and NE-10 All-Tournament teams. As a senior, Wilcox was named NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year, NE-10 Tournament Most Valuable Player and was the team captain of UMass Lowell.
