Field Hockey Announces 2008 Incoming Freshman Class
Holy Cross head field hockey coach Alicia Hawk has announced the 2008 incoming freshman class for the Crusaders. Jamie Caniglia (Wayne, Pa.), Amanda McGavick (Sudbury, Mass.), Rachael Miers (Langhorne, Pa.), Sofia Spanos (Laconia, N.H.) and Kirsten Walther (Landenberg, Pa.) will join the Holy Cross program for the 2008-2009 academic year. The Crusaders start the season on Aug. 30 at Fairfield, while their first home game is set for Sept. 7 at the Hart Turf Field against Boston College. The 2008 Crusaders return six starters from last year's team. (more)

Field Hockey Announces Schedule
Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., and head field hockey coach Alicia Hawk have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2008 season. Holy Cross is scheduled to play a total of 19 games this season, including 10 home contests at the Hart Turf Field. The Crusaders will open the season with a pair of road games at Fairfield and Harvard. Holy Cross will then play two straight home games with contests against Boston College and Providence. (more)

Holy Cross Announces Team Captains
The Holy Cross field hockey team has announced seniors Carolyn Connelly (Greenland, N.H.), Jessie Cullen (Norwich, Vt.), Kristin Schulz (Fairfield, Conn.) and Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) as the 2008 team co-captains. A forward and midfielder, Connelly has appeared in 31 games, making five starts in two seasons with the Crusaders. She has two goals and one assist for five points as well as tallied 44 interceptions and 37 tackles throughout her career. (more)
