Women's Golf Competes In Mount Holyoke Invitational Over Weekend

- The Holy Cross women's golf team heads into its second meet of the season on Sept. 25-26 at the Mount Holyoke Invitational at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass. The Crusaders also competed in the event last year, finishing sixth of 14 schools.
- Senior co-captain Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) shot a two-round score of 166 to lead Holy Cross at Mount Holyoke last season, finishing 12 strokes behind individual winner Hayley Milbourn of Amherst. She notched a season-low round of 79 in the first round of the invitational. Doherty started the 2010 fall season where she finished last season, finishing first on the team at the Dartmouth Invitational, held this past weekend. She marked a two round score of 165, including a low round of 81 on the second day to tie for 34th individually.
- Fellow senior co-captain Johanna Gavin (Hackettstown, N.J.) hopes to improve this week heading into the Mount Holyoke Invitational. In last year's Mount Holyoke Invitational, she finished tied for 50th with a 186. She opened up this season with a two-round score of 175, posting an 86 in the first round and then finishing with an 89.
- Sophomore Kelly Reagan (Mendota Heights, Minn.) saw her first collegiate action at last year's Mount Holyoke Invitational, finishing in a tie for 46th with a two-round score of 183. She tied her career low-round at this past weekend's Dartmouth Invite, collecting an 85 in the second round.
