WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Morgan Powers (Glastonbury, Conn.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from April 22-28. Powers led the Holy Cross women's golf team to a first place finish last weekend at the Nazareth Invitational.
During last weekend's competition, Powers shot a 78 on Saturday and followed with a round of 86 on Sunday to finish in first place as an individual with a total of 164 strokes over two rounds (20-over par). With that performance, she became the first player in the history of the program to win medalist honors in a tournament.
On the season, Powers led the team with an average of 87.4 strokes per round. Over the course of her collegiate career, she has now averaged 86.4 strokes per 18 holes.
Holy Cross' 2012-2013 season is now complete.
