Women’s Golf Places Seventh At Mt. Holyoke Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Holy Cross women's golf sophomore Marisa Cameron (Garden City, N.Y.) tied for eighth place individually with a two-day total of 159 strokes (+15), as the Crusaders finished in seventh place at the Mount Holyoke Invitational held at the par-72 Orchards Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22. The Crusaders shot a total score of 675 strokes, as Williams won the tournament with a team total of 619 strokes.

Cameron shot an 81 during the first round of the tournament and tied a career-low with a score of 78 in the second round. Junior captain Morgan Powers (Glastonbury, Conn.) finished in 19th place individually with a two-day score of 164 strokes (+20), while sophomore Claire McMahon (Buffalo, N.Y.) tied for 32nd, as she carded a plus-28 (172 strokes). Her second round total of 85 was a career-low for McMahon.

Holy Cross sophomores Lydia Deneen (Hubbardston, Mass.) and Regan McCooey (Manhasset, N.Y.) came in 48th and 76th place, respectively, with scores of 180 (+36) and 211 (+67).

The Crusaders return to action on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 29-30, as they will compete in the ECAC Championship held at the Twisted Dune Golf Club in Township, N.J.
