EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The Holy Cross women's golf team totaled a team score of 739 strokes to earn a fifth place finish at the ECAC Division I Women's Championship held at the par-72 Twisted Dune Golf Club on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 29-30. Siena claimed the tournament crown with a total score of 638 strokes.
The Crusaders were led by sophomore Marisa Cameron (Garden City, N.Y.) who finished in 15th place with a two-round total of 175 (+31). Junior captain Morgan Powers (Glastonbury, Conn.) improved her score by eight strokes on day two and earned an 18th place finish with a scorecard of 178 (+34).
Holy Cross sophomore Claire McMahon (Buffalo, N.Y.) came in with a total sum of 191(+47) strokes, which put her in 23rd place, while classmate Lydia Deneen (Hubbardston, Mass.) finished just behind her in 24th with a score of 195 (+51). Sophomore Regan McCooey (Manhasset, N.Y.) rounded out the team with a 25th place finish and a score of 222 (+78).
The Crusaders will take a few weeks off before they conclude the 2013 fall slate at the Sacred Heart Classic on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 20-21 at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn.
