Women’s Golf Places Sixth At Sacred Heart Fall Classic

MILFORD, Conn. – The Holy Cross women's golf team finished in sixth place out of six teams at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 20-21 at the par-72 Great River Golf Club. The Crusaders combined to shoot a team score of 744 strokes (+168), while Seton Hall claimed the tournament crown at 629 strokes (+53).

Holy Cross was led by junior captain Morgan Powers (Glastonbury, Conn.) who finished in 20th place with a two-day score of 173 (+29). Crusader sophomore Marisa Cameron (Garden City, N.Y.) tied for 25th place with a two-round total of 176 (+32), while classmate Lydia Deneen (Hubbardston, Mass.) carded a 191 (+47) for a 31st place finish.

Holy Cross sophomores Claire McMahon (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Erika Park (Berlin, Conn.) came in 33rd and 35th place, respectively, with scores of 204 (+60) and 245 (+101).

During the two-day event, the Holy Cross women's golf team wore an assortment of pink accessories in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Crusaders have concluded the 2013 fall season. The 2014 spring schedule will be released at a later date.
