WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore goaltender Krista Manzanares (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 7-13. Manzanares earned Most Valuable Player honors at last weekend's Rutland Herald Invitational, while helping to lead the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team to the title.
During Friday night's 4-0 victory over Sacred Heart, Manzanares earned her second shutout of the season while making 22 saves. Then in Saturday's 4-3 win over Castleton State in the championship game, she totaled 25 saves for the Crusaders.
On the season, Manzanares now owns a 6-2-0 record with 165 saves and a 1.92 goals against average. Over the course of her collegiate career, she stands 12-2-1 with 301 saves and a 1.62 goals against average.
Holy Cross (9-4-1 overall, 4-3-1 ECAC East) returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 15, when it travels to Colby for a 7:00 p.m. game.
