Women’s Hockey Announces 2013-2014 Schedule

2013-2014 Schedule

WORCESTER, Mass. – Head coach of Holy Cross women's ice hockey, Peter Van Buskirk along with athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., have announced the 2013-2014 schedule. The Crusaders are set to play a total of 25 regular season games, including 11 on home ice. Holy Cross will start off the season by travelling to Sacred Heart, a non-conference opponent, on November 8, followed by a two-game home-stretch beginning with a contest against Salve Regina (Nov. 9). Shortly thereafter Holy Cross will face Franklin Pierce in the Hart Center (Nov. 12).

The remainder of the 2013 season includes an away game against Norwich (Nov. 15), who qualified for the 2013 NCAA Tournament last year. Following Norwich, Holy Cross will travel to St. Michael's (Nov. 16). The next three games feature match-ups against UMass-Boston (Nov. 22), St. Anselm (Nov. 23) and Bowdoin (Nov. 30), all of which will be played in the Hart Center.  The last two games before the New Year will take place at Wesleyan (Dec. 1) and Connecticut College (Dec. 3).

Holy Cross will kick off the New Year by travelling to Amherst (Jan. 4). Holy Cross will play its next two games in the Castleton State Tournament, held in Castleton, Vt., on Jan. 10-11. The Crusaders will open the tournament with a game against Salve Regina (Jan. 10) and then will play either Castleton State or the University of New England on the second day of the tournament, Jan. 11. The Crusaders will then host Sacred Heart on Jan. 14 before a four-game stretch on the road. Holy Cross will travel to Manhattanville (Jan. 17), Nichols (Jan. 18), Plymouth State (Jan. 24), and Southern Maine (Jan. 25) before returning to the Hart Center.  On Jan. 31 Holy Cross will host Castleton State, New England College (Feb. 1) and non-conference opponent Colby on Feb. 4.

In the final weeks of February, the Crusaders will travel to St. Anselm (Feb. 7) and UMass- Boston (Feb. 8).  Their final regular season home match-ups will include Nichols (Feb. 14) and Manhattanville on Feb. 15, followed by two ECAC Open Tournament games at the Hart Center on Feb. 22 and Feb 23.

Last season the Crusaders went 16-6-5  including a 6-3-3 record at the Hart Center.
