WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior forward Stephanie Couzin (Chicago, Ill.) has been named the GoHolyCross.com Crusader of the Week, for competition from November 5-11. Couzin led the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team to a win and a tie in its first two games of the 2007-2008 season.
In Friday's 1-1 tie at Sacred Heart, Couzin recorded an assist on the Crusaders' only goal of the game, scored by senior forward Sam Rush (Wakefield, Mass.). Then is Sunday's 5-3 home victory over Sacred Heart, Couzin totaled two goals and one assist. She netted a pair of unassisted goals in the first and second periods, both of which tied the score, then assisted on a goal by junior forward Sam Murphy (Canton, Mass.) to conclude the scoring in the third period.
On the season, Couzin now leads the team in scoring with four points on two goals and two assists. Over the course of her Holy Cross career, she has totaled 26 goals and 20 assists for 46 points.
The Crusaders (1-0-1 overall, 0-0-0 ECAC East) return to action on Friday, Nov. 16, when they travel to St. Anselm for a 7:00 p.m. game.
