WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman forward Stacey Hochkins (New Boston, Mich.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from December 8-14. Hochkins posted two goals and two assists as the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team defeated Wesleyan in its only game last week.
During the 5-2 victory over the Cardinals, Hochkins scored her first goal at the 8:58-mark of the first period to give the Crusaders a 2-0 lead. After Wesleyan had tied the score at 2-2, she then assisted on goals by freshman forward Nicola Garat (Princeton, N.J.) and sophomore forward Christina D'Ambrogio (Toronto, Ontario) in the third period, as Holy Cross took a 4-2 lead. Hochkins later concluded the scoring with her second goal of the night at the 18:27-mark of the third period.
Overall this season, Hochkins leads the team in scoring with 25 points on nine goals and 16 assists.
The Crusaders, who currently stand 10-0-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the ECAC East, return to action on Jan. 6, when they travel to Colby for a 7:00 p.m. game.
