WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Caitie Shea (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from April 23-29. Shea totaled five goals and two assists in two games, as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team finished as the runner-up in the Patriot League Tournament.
During Friday night's 13-12 victory over Colgate in the semifinals, Shea led the team with four goals and two assists. After scoring four goals in the first half, she then had assists on the Crusaders' final two goals of the night, as Holy Cross earned the win by breaking an 11-11 tie with less than 12 minutes to play. Shea also scored one goal in Sunday's 18-11 loss to Navy in the championship game, and was selected to the All-Patriot League Tournament team.
On the season, Shea ranked sixth on the team in scoring with 12 goals and eight assists for 20 points. She finished her four-year Holy Cross career with 25 points on 16 goals and nine assists.
The Crusaders finished the 2012 season with an overall record of 10-8.
