WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Amy Archambault (West Hartford, Conn.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from April 24-30. Archambault helped lead the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team to a pair of victories last weekend, with the Crusaders winning the Patriot League Tournament title.
In the conference championship game against Colgate on Sunday, Archambault scored a team-high three goals in the 9-6 victory. After Holy Cross trailed 5-1 at halftime, she scored two straight goals to open the second half and start the Crusaders' rally for the win. Archambault's final goal came at the 10:36 mark of the second half, making the score 8-5 Holy Cross and helping to put the game away.
In Saturday's Patriot League semifinal game against Bucknell, Archambault had a goal and two ground balls in the 13-7 victory. Her goal came late in the first half, giving the Crusaders a 6-2 lead at halftime.
On the season, Archambault ranks fifth on the team in scoring with 31 points on 26 goals and five assists. Over the course of her career as a Crusader, she has totaled 60 points on 53 goals and seven assists.
The Holy Cross women's lacrosse team returns to action this Saturday, May 6, when it will take on Le Moyne in a play-in game for the 2006 NCAA Tournament.
