
Qualified for the 2011 U.S.
women’s national team Pre-Elite Camp at Syracuse University,
as one of 18 rowers to be selected…attended the U.S.
national team Freshman Camp at the University of Iowa in the summer
of 2010, as one of 16 rowers picked.
2011-2012: Member of the varsity eight for all
nine spring regattas...the varsity eight won races against Simmons
and Smith (March 31) and Connecticut (April 22)...the Crusaders
also placed 13th out of 31 boats at the Knecht Cup (April
14-15)...varsity eight finished fourth at the Patriot League
Championship (April 29) and third at the New England Championship
(May 5)...member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy.
2010-2011: Rowed for the Holy Cross
“B” boat in the pair race and was a member of the open
heavy championship eight boat at the 40th Schuylkill Regatta (Oct.
30) as the team tied for first out of 39 teams for the points
trophy…member of the varsity eight for all 10 spring
regattas…rowed for the varsity eight that defeated Simmons
(April 3) in a dual-race, placed first against Boston College and
Connecticut to win the Irving-Christensen Cup (April 17), defeated
UMass (April 23) in a dual-race, placed fourth at the Patriot
League Championship (April 24) and finished fifth at the New
England Championship (April 30)…named to the Patriot League
Academic Honor Roll.
2009-2010: Rowed for the varsity eight in all 14
varsity races…helped varsity eight to wins against Coast
Guard, Mount Holyoke and Wesleyan (March 27), and against Simmons
and Smith (March 28)…rowed in varsity eight which placed
fifth at the Patriot League Championship (April 25) and the New
England Championship (May 1), and won the petite finals at the ECAC
National Invitational (May 9).
Before Holy Cross: Rowed for Community Rowing Inc.
for coach Ethan Curren...team won the 2009 U.S. Club Nationals
Point Trophy and the 2009 Lowell Invitational Point Trophy...a
member of a varsity four crew that placed first in four out of the
six races in the spring of 2009...competed at both the 2008 and
2009 U.S. Club Nationals and Canadian Henley...placed first in the
junior eight and junior four at the 2009 U.S. Club
Nationals...rowed for the varsity four crew that competed at the
2008 Head of the Charles Regatta...part of the varsity four crew
that qualified for the Junior National Championships and placed
10th overall in the spring of 2009...placed second in the
intermediate eight at 2009 U.S. Club Nationals...also a two-year
member of the varsity basketball team at Newton Country
Day...member of the Service Committee and Amnesty
International.
Personal: Daughter of Gerry Roy and Diane
McDermott Roy...has one brother (Chris) and two sisters (Caroline
and Victoria)...brother, Chris attends Holy Cross (Class of
2015)...a Chemistry major.
