Women’s Varsity Eight Places Second Out Of 34 Boats At Knecht Cup
CAMDEN, N.J. – The varsity eight placed second out of 34 boats as the Holy Cross women's rowing team competed at the Knecht Cup on Saturday and Sunday on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J. The novice eight finished ninth out of 30 boats.
The varsity eight won its six-boat heat with a time of 6:51.91 as Trinity placed second with a time of 6:53.06. The Crusaders then placed first in their semifinal with a time of 6:36.16 as Bucknell placed second with a time of 6:39.47. Then the Crusaders placed second in the grand finals with a time of 6:44.24 as Bucknell won with a time of 6:42.74.
The novice eight won its opening heat with a time of 7:22.43 as UMass placed second with a time of 7:40.69. The Crusaders then placed third out of six boats with a semifinal time of 7:29.95. Holy Cross placed third in the petite final with a time of 7:23.70. Lehigh won with a time of 7:10.79.
The second varsity eight placed fourth in its heat with a time of 7:24:15, while the varsity four placed sixth in its heat with a time of 8:30.35.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, April 20 when they compete versus Colby, Connecticut College and Ithaca, in Worcester, Mass., on Lake Quinsigamond.
