The regatta was a part of the Row for Boston Campaign. Instead of wearing individual school uniforms, every rower participating in these races wore the same "Row for Boston" shirt as a symbol of strength and unity. The shirt features the oar designs of each individual college, all coming together to form the word "Boston."
Each of the t-shirts that the teams wore benefits Boston Children's Hospital Emergency and Trauma Fund, which continues to aid in the recovery of those injured in the attacks by helping children and families get the emergency treatment they need when faced with tragedy. USRowing and Boathouse Sports are donating all of the proceeds from the sales to Children's Hospital.
