Women’s Rowing Announces Team Awards

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's rowing program has announced its team awards for the 2013-2014 season. Sophomore Kayla Zenk (Kent, Conn.) won the Crewsader Award, which is the team's MVP/Unsung Hero Award, while sophomore Tori McCormick (Needham, Mass.) earned the Claire Scherer "Fiercest Competitor" Award. 

Both Zenk and McCormick were members of the varsity eight that placed third at the Textile River Regatta (Oct. 6), third at the Snake Regatta (Oct. 12) and sixth at the Patriot League Championship (May 16).   

Zenk, who has been a two-year member of the varsity eight, rowed for the varsity eight in nine regattas this season. She is a member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy. 

McCormick, who has also been a two-year member of the varsity eight, rowed for the varsity eight in seven regattas this season. She is also a member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy. As a freshman, McCormick was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
