Women's Rowing Competes Against MIT & Trinity

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team hosted an event today at Lake Quinsigamond competing against MIT & Trinity College. The Crusaders ended the day, placing first in one race and second in the other two they competed in.

The women's novice eight boat of Christie Kapothanasis, Shannon Driscoll, Laura Dillon, Tina Milne, Rachel Dutton, Odet Douglass, Elizabeth Flaherty, Claire Moynahan, and Emily Samartino placed first in their race with a time of 7:23.2 ahead of MIT Lightweights (7:27.4) and Trinity (7:53.4).

The women's varsity eight made up of Katie Donnelly, Clare Bracikowski, Mara Piltin, Johanna Cubelli, Lis Flaherty, Abby Hammond, Valerie Jackson, Monika Mangsen, and Gosha Smas placed second in their race with a time of 6:49.5, ahead of MIT who finished with 6:52.2. The women's second varsity eight team of Caroline Krug, Kelly St. Germain, Erika Furtado, Katherine Byrns, Michelle Dwyer, Alexandra Dempsey, Andrea Simari, Meredith Mayllsz, and Ashley Fish also finished second in their race (7:06.1), ahead of Trinity's team who recorded a time of 7:10.3.

The Crusaders will return to action on Sunday, April 27 when they travel to Camden, N.J. for the Patriot Challenge at 8:00 a.m.
