Holy Cross Shelby Stand Named Third Team All-Region
WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross women's soccer player senior Shelby Stand (Douglas, Mass.) has been named to the 2009 NSCAA NCAA Division I women's All-Mid-Atlantic Region third team. Stand led the Crusaders to a 7-9-3 overall record, the most wins in program history since the 2000 season.
Stand led the Crusaders with 10 goals, tying her for fourth on the Holy Cross single-season record list. Her 51 career points tie her for seventh all-time at Holy Cross and her 22 career goals are sixth. Stand was named to the 2009 first team All-Patriot League for the second time in her career as she completed the season second in the Patriot League in shots per game, goals per game, points per game and game winning goals. Stand was also selected as a member of the NEWISA All-New England second team.
