WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross sophomore goalkeeper Carly McCabe (Barrington, R.I.) has been named women's soccer Brine Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week for games played the week of Aug. 20-26, as announced by the league. McCabe made a career-high 12 saves on Friday (Aug. 24) in a 1-1 draw versus Providence. This is her second career Brine Goalkeeper of the Week, taking home the honor for the week of Sept 5-11 during the 2011 season when she made 21 saves over two games.
McCabe logged a .923 save percentage while allowing only one goal versus Providence. She kept the Friars off the board for just over 71 minutes of action and made two crucial saves in the two overtime periods, opening the 2012 season with a record of 0-0-1.
Holy Cross (1-0-1) will return to the pitch on Thursday, Aug. 30, when it travels to Smithfield, R.I. to take on Bryant at 4:00 p.m.
