WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross women's soccer sophomore goalkeeper Carly McCabe (Barrington, R.I.) has been named the BRINE Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week for games played Sept. 24-30 as announced by the league. McCabe tied her career-high mark set earlier this season against Providence with 12 saves in the Crusaders' 1-0 victory over defending Patriot League champion Army on Saturday (Sept. 29). This is the second BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week award for McCabe this season and the third of her career.
McCabe did not allow a goal in the only game of the week for Holy Cross. It was the first time since the 1995 season that the Crusaders defeated the Black Knights. She currently leads the Patriot League in four statistical categories, including goals against average (.061), save percentage (.914), saves per game (6.62) and shutouts per game (0.50). She is also third in overall saves with 53 over eight contests.
Holy Cross (5-5-1, 1-0-0 Patriot League) will continue conference play on Friday, Oct. 5, traveling to Bucknell for a 7:00 p.m. match.
