Nine Women's Soccer Players Named To Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

WORCESTER, Mass. - Nine members of the Holy Cross women's soccer team have been named to the 2012 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced today by the league. Senior Ashlyn Angell (Raleigh, N.C.) led the team with a 3.93 grade-point average. Angell, a Political Science major, was named to the team for the third time.

Senior Maura Fox (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and juniors Tricia Giglio (Acton, Mass.) and Alyssa Heiser (Bristol, Conn.) were also named to the Honor Roll for the third time. Earning recognition for the second season was sophomore Carly McCabe (Barrington, R.I.) while sophomores Emily Gallagher (Duxbury, Mass.) and Gina Righini (Salem, N.H.) and freshmen Megan Greineder (East Greenwich, Conn.) and Jenna Scanlon (Auburn, Mass.) each earned the honor for the first time.

A total of 98 student-athletes from eight Patriot League schools were named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible, the student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average during the fall 2012 semester.
