Holy Cross To Play Two Patriot League Games This Week

  • This week, the Holy Cross women's soccer team will play a pair of Patriot League contests. On Wednesday, Oct. 12, the Crusaders will travel to Boston, Mass. to take on new league-rival Boston University (6-3-1, 1-1-0 PL) at 7:00 p.m. This will be the first match between these two teams since the Crusaders defeated BU, 2-1 (OT) on Oct. 14, 1995. On Saturday, Oct. 5, Holy Cross will entertain Lafayette (4-4-1, 0-2-0 PL) on the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium at 1:00 p.m. Last season, the Crusaders defeated Lafayette, 2-1, on Oct. 13 in Worcester, Mass.
  • The Crusaders went 0-1-1 last week, beginning with a 0-0 (2OT) draw against New Hampshire on Wednesday, Sept. 25 in Worcester, Mass. Holy Cross then dropped a Patriot League match on Saturday, Sept. 28 versus American, 1-0, also in Worcester, Mass. Holy Cross is 1-6-3 overall on the season and 0-1-1 in the Patriot League.
  • Holy Cross junior goalkeeper Carly McCabe (Barrington, R.I.) earned her fourth shutout of the season and the 10th of her career versus the Wildcats on Sept. 25. In the Patriot League, McCabe ranks second in shutouts (4), third in goals against average (0.75) and saves (43), and fourth in save percentage (.843).
  • Offensively, Holy Cross is led by sophomore Annie Galvin (Attleboro, Mass.) and junior captain Ally Pasquariello (Suffield, Conn.) both of whom have one goal. Galvin also leads the team with 19 shots on the season.
