McCabe Named To Academic All-Patriot League Team

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior goalkeeper Carly McCabe (Barrington, R.I.) was named to the women's soccer Academic All-Patriot League team, as voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must possess at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter of key player in his/her sport. This is the first time McCabe has earned this accolade.

McCabe, a history major with a 3.54 GPA, was the starting goalkeeper in 17 contests this season. She posted a 1.13 goals against average, a .828 save percentage and tied her career-best with four shutouts. Her 1.13 GAA this season ranks fifth all-time in Holy Cross history. This year, she led the Patriot League with 96 saves and played the second most minutes for a goalkeeper at 1599:41. Over her three-year career, McCabe holds the best GAA in school history (1.16) and ranks fifth all-time in save percentage (.830) and also shutouts (10).

One of four co-captains for the 2013 season, McCabe has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll twice (2011 & 2012). She is also a member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy.

The Crusaders finished the season with a 2-12-4 overall record and held a 2-7-0 mark in the Patriot League.
