WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman righthanded pitcher Gennifer Durham (Abbeville, S.C.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from April 8-14. Durham helped lead the Holy Cross softball team to a 2-4 mark in six games over the past week.
During the opener of Saturday's doubleheader against Colgate, Durham retired all 21 batters she faced to record the first perfect game in school history. She registered seven ground outs, five pop outs, three foul outs, three line outs, two strike outs and one fly out on the afternoon. In her other two starts last week, Durham allowed three earned runs on five hits in 3-1/3 innings during Tuesday's 10-2 loss at Siena, and gave up one earned run on seven hits with a complete game seven-inning effort in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Colgate.
On the season, Durham now stands 7-9 with a 3.50 earned run average and 37 strikeouts in 98 innings of work.
Holy Cross (13-19 overall, 7-5 Patriot League) returns to action on Wednesday, April 17, when it plays host to Central Connecticut in a doubleheader at 3:00 p.m.
