WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior catcher Alycia FitzPatrick (Lake Forest, Calif.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from March 21-27. FitzPatrick went 10 for 16 with nine runs batted in last week, as the Holy Cross softball split a four-game series at Lafayette on Saturday and Sunday.
In the opening game of the series, FitzPatrick went three for three with a double, while driving in three runs in the narrow 7-6 loss. She also played well in game three of the set, going four for four with a home run and four runs batted in, as the Crusaders posted a 13-0 victory. FitzPatrick totaled four doubles and five runs scored in the series, while posting at least one hit in each game.
On the season, FitzPatrick is now batting .480 with seven doubles and 15 runs batted in. She has at least one hit in 13 out of 14 games this season, and is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak.
The Crusaders, who stand 6-8 overall and 2-2 in the Patriot League so far this season, are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 2, when they will play host to Army in a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
