WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Alisha Carrazza (Boonton Township, N.J.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 18-24. Carrazza helped lead the Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team to its ninth Worcester City Championship last week.
During the Worcester City Championship on Friday and Saturday, Carrazza won individual titles in three different events. She claimed first place in the 50-yard freestyle (25.71), the 100-yard freestyle (56.51) and the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.00). Carrazza also swam the anchor leg on four different relay teams which won events. She was a member of the first-place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.44), the 200-yard medley relay (1:56.10), the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:45.70) and the 400-yard medley relay (new meet record of 4:09.16).
In addition, Carrazza swam well in Holy Cross dual meet loss (157-105) at Bryant on Wednesday. She won the 100-yard freestyle (55.06) against the Bulldogs, while placing second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.87). Carrazza was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:50.67) and 200-yard medley relay (1:55.95) teams which came in second against Bryant.
Holy Cross (3-6 overall, 1-2 Patriot League) returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 30, when it plays host to Providence in its final home meet of the season at 1:00 p.m.
