WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Gael Carter (Tampa, Fla.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from February 14-20. Carter broke three schools records last week, as the Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team finished in eighth place at the Patriot League Championship in Lewisburg, Pa.
During the Patriot League Championship, Carter set new school records in the 50-yard freestyle (24.30), 100-yard backstroke (58.31) and 100-yard butterfly (58.65). In individual events, she placed 11th in the 100-yard backstroke, 20th in the 100-yard butterfly and 20th in the 200-yard backstroke, where her time of 2:08.39 was just three hundredths of a second off the school record. Carter was also a member of four Holy Cross relay teams, in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:39.59), 400-yard freestyle relay (3:36.12), 200-yard medley relay (1:51.92) and 400-yard medley relay (4:02.24).
The 2010-2011 season is now complete for the Crusaders.
